MADISON, WIS. – Women's Volleyball returned to the Todd Wehr Edgedome Thursday for more NACC action. They took on the Alverno Inferno in their first of back-to-back home match. The Eagles (20-6, 11-0 NACC) left no room for doubt in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-5, 25-12) victory over the Inferno (3-20, 0-10).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University set the tone for the night early, taking off on a 10-2 run and never looking back in the first set. They recorded just one attacking error on route to a dominant 25-9 win.
- The Eagles led 19-2 late in the second set as they continued to roll. They hit .476 in the 25-5 victory as they took a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
- An 11-3 start to the third frame kept Edgewood University rolling to the very end as they doused the Inferno for a sweep hitting .455 in the final set.
- The Eagles outhit Alverno .422 to -.197.
- 11 Edgewood University hitters earned at least a kill.
Nida Zukauskaite paced the group with seven kills.
- The Eagles tallied 14 aces with
Kate Gunderson netting a match-high four.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Edgewood University .422 hitting percentage and 14 aces were season highs.
- The -.197 hitting percentage from the Inferno were a season low for any Eagle opponent.

Edgewood University hosts a NACC showdown at the Edgedome Saturday. They'll take on the Aurora Spartans in a rematch of last year's NACC Tournament Semifinal. First serve is scheduled for noon.
