WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's soccer team claimed their 13th straight victory on Wednesday evening and secured their first ever perfect conference season. A 12-0-0 clip for the Eagles in the NACC regular season goes down as the best in program history, following a 1-0 win at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Connor Gage scored the only goal of the evening in the regular season finale. Gage finding the back of the net in the 27th minute, assisted by Gabe Voung.
- Edgewood University (14-1-2, 12-0-0 NACC) did well to control action on Wednesday evening, only allowing one shot from Wisconsin Lutheran College (3-11-5, 2-6-4 NACC).
- Cristian Torres-Gale led the Eagles with six shots on the evening, two were on goal. Gage added five shots of his own
- Maverick Van Laanen recorded one save and his sixth shutout of the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood University will host a NACC Tournament game this Saturday. This is the third time the Eagles will play in the NACC Tournament under head coach Tim Bruner.
- Edgewood University now owns 11 shutouts on the season, nine coming in conference play.
- In the regular season, the Eagles only allowed six goals. Edgewood University only gave up three goals in conference play.
