Kaup’s hat trick lifts Eagles to record ninth-straight win

VERONA, Wis. – Seven goals and a hat trick from Brandon Kaup gave the Edgewood University men's soccer them their ninth-straight victory on Wednesday evening. The Eagles winning streak goes down as the best in program history. The Eagles defeated Marian University 7-0 in conference play. Five different Eagles scored in the victory.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Edgewood University (10-1-2, 8-0-0 NACC) attack continued to prove their power on Wednesday evening, striking early and often. Brandon Kaup netted his first of three goals just 5:03 into the first half. Cristian Torres-Gale joined the scoring party, finding the back of the net just 30 seconds later.

- Kaup's completed his first career-hat trick in just the 19th minute. Kaup's second goal coming in the 16th minute. The senior gave the Eagles a confident 4-0 advantage.

- Connor Gage netted his fifth goal of the season in the 22nd minute, beating out a defender from the top of the box.

- Riley Kann netted the Eagles sixth goal in the 31st minute, assisted by Harrison Kinney.

- Edgewood University edged Marian University (4-8-2, 2-5-1 NACC) 16-4 through the first 45 minutes on Wednesday evening.

- Brooks Luttinen netted his first goal of the season, and the Eagles seventh and final goal in the 85th minute. Luttinen netting a perfect pass from Anthony Campos.

- Maverick Van Laanen made the start in net for the Eagles, recording two saves. Spencer Hubbard posted four saves in the second half of action. Their counterpart Tyler Hall posted five saves for the Sabres.

- On the evening, the Eagles recorded 26 saves, putting 12 on net. The Sabres managed 11 shots, six on goal.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles claim the best winning-streak in program history at nine. Eight wins was the previous best mark, set during the 2024 season.

- Edgewood University will travel to Rockford University on Friday. Action is set for 3:30 p.m. from Rockford, Ill.
