ROCKFORD, Ill. – High scoring offense has become a consistent sight for the Edgewood University men's soccer team in the second half of conference action in 2025. The Eagles collected their 10th-straight victory on Friday, defeating Rockford University 7-0. Five different players scored in the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Liam Moreira opened the scoring for Edgewood University (11-1-2, 9-0-0 NACC) on Friday afternoon, netting his third goal of the season just 2:19 into the contest.
- Ryan Hardy, Cristian Torres-Gale, and Stephen Kaster each tacked on goals in the first half to give the Eagles a 4-0 advantage at halftime. Gabe Voung, Brandon Kaup, and Conor Bruce all added assists in the first half of action.
- The Eagles took a 5-0 advantage after halftime thanks to an own goal from Rockford.
- Connor Gage netted the Eagles sixth and final goal of the contest with 68:26 on the clock in the second half. Gage's goal assisted by Riley Kann.
- The Eagles outshot Rockford University (2-12-1, 1-8-0 NACC) 48-1 on the afternoon. The Eagles put 18 shots on goal on Friday. The Regents only shot came in the second half of action.
- Maverick Van Laanen & Griffin Meisterheim split time in net for the Eagles. Their counterpart's Wesley Pritzlaff & Jaun Sarmiento combined for 13 saves on the afternoon for the Regents.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood University remains the only undefeated team in conference play in 2025 and have clinched a NACC tournament berth with a 9-0-0 conference mark.
