VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's soccer team soared to a 3-1 victory over Dominican University on Saturday. The Eagles claimed their third-straight victory and first victory over the Stars since the 2014 season. Kamy Luecke led the Eagles in the NACC win, scoring twice.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It didn't take Edgewood University (9-4-1, 5-2-0 NACC) long to score on Saturday, as an early goal from Kamy Luecke came in the third minute. Luecke's goal coming off a corner kick from Reaghan Spencer.
- Greta Blau joined Luecke in the scoring action, finding the back of the net in the 14th minute. The Eagles took a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
- Luecke extended the Eagles advantage just four minutes into the second half. Luecke's second goal of the afternoon, assisted by Rylee Brotz.
- Sarah Matuszek netted the only goal for Dominican University (7-4-1, 5-2-0 NACC) in the final minute on Saturday.
- The Eagles outshot the Stars 17-15 on Saturday, with nine shots coming in the first half.
- Madeline Brown posted six saves in net for Edgewood University. Her counterpart, Gianna Stanek recorded five saves.
