MADISON, Wis. – When it rains, it pours, three-pointers for Edgewood College women's basketball on Wednesday evening. The Eagles earned their fourth-straight win behind their best shooting of the season in the conference contest. Edgewood College defeated Rockford University 90-48 behind a career shooting performance from Jordan Carlquist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jordan Carlquist opened scoring in the Edgedome with a confident three-pointer on Wednesday. The graduate student scored 12 of the Eagles 23 points in the first quarter, two of which came from beyond the arc. Jessie Carlquist ended the quarter with five-straight points to put Edgewood College (11-7, 7-2 NACC) up 23-9 after the first quarter.
- Edgewood College shot a whopping 72.4 percent (10-for-14) in the opening 10 minutes, including 60 percent (3-for-5) from three-point range.
- Jordan Carlquist continued to shine in the second quarter, scoring eight points and reaching the 20-point mark at halftime. Four different Eagles combined for 19 points in the second quarter to lift the Eagles to a 42-19 advantage at the break.
- Six different Eagles scored in the third quarter. Highlighted by two three-point makes from Adrienne Kirch. The Eagles took a 66-35 advantage into the final quarter.
- Clare Allison opened the final quarter with a three-point make for Edgewood College. The Eagles matched their third quarter point total to confidently take home the conference victory.
- 16 different Eagles contributed to the scoring effort on Wednesday. In addition, 16 different players pulled down a rebound.
- Seven different Edgewood College players recorded a three-point make in the conference contest, led by Jordan Carlquist with four makes. Kenzie Senffner and Kirch each made two shots from beyond the arc.
- The Eagle defense held the Regents to just 21.9 percent (16-for-73) shooting from the floor on Wednesday.
- Vivian Guerrero pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds on Wednesday.
- Kallie Norby recorded 12 points, going 5-for-6 from the field through 18 minutes.
- Jessie Carlquist recorded seven points.
- Senffner and Kirch each recorded six points for the Eagles.
- Ava Berg and Taylor Wollin each dished out four assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College posted their best shooting percentages of the season. The Eagles 55 percent (33-for-60) shooting from the floor is their best of their 2023-24 campaign. In addition, the Eagles 52.2 percent (12-for-23) from three-point range is tied for fifth best in the single-game history books. The Eagles 12 three-point makes is tied for second most in a single-game.
- Jordan Carlquist recorded a career-best 25 points on Wednesday.
- McKenna Reilly recorded a career-best five points on Wednesday.
THE OPPOSITION
- Katie Paredes led Rockford with 17 points on Wednesday evening. Paredes recorded three makes from beyond the arc.
- D'Asia Washington recorded nine points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Regents.
- Lexi Keating collected three steals, while Kyla Wilkerson dished out three assists.
