Raiders deal Eagles NACC setback

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -  The Edgewood College women's basketball team traveled to MSOE on Saturday for a conference battle. The Raiders handed the Eagles their first conference loss of the season via a 66-47 final score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (7-6, 3-1 NACC) came out of the gate hot in the first quarter, scoring 21 points thanks to a 17-5 start to the contest. The Raiders held Edgewood College (7-6, 3-1 NACC) to just seven points in the opening 10 minutes.

- The Eagles bounced back in the second quarter, scoring 15 points, but failing to cut into the Raiders lead. MSOE shot a game-high 50 percent (6-for-12) from the floor in the second quarter and took a 39-22 lead into halftime.

- The Raiders tacked on 19 points in the third quarter, while the Eagles managed 11 points coming out of the break. Edgewood College trailed MSOE 58-33 heading into the final 10 minutes.

- A comeback fell short, as Edgewood College outscored MSOE 14-8 in the final quarter. Taylor Wollin and Jessie Carlquist combined for eight of the Eagles points in the final 10 minutes.

- Jordan Carlquist led the Eagles attack with 10 points on Saturday. She went 4-for-8 from the floor and 2-for-4 from beyond the arc.

- Kallie Norby posted nine points and pulled down three rebounds.

- Wollin posted a career-best nine points in the road contest.

THE OPPOSITION
- Lana Kerley posted a 17 point, 12 rebound double-double to lead the Raiders.

- Halena Hill and Mahima Chokshi joined Kerley in double-digit scoring with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

- The Raiders shot 42.1 percent (24-for-57) from the floor in the conference battle.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will host Aurora University on Wednesday, January 15. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. from the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
