FOND DU LAC, WIS. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis squad opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play with the Marian Sabres Saturday. The Eagles (4-0, 1-0 NACC) remained unbeaten in dominant fashion, posting a 7-0 sweep of the Sabres (0-1, 0-1 NACC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College wrapped up the doubles point in a hurry.
Madelyn Connaughty and
Hattie Plenty shined with a 6-0 sweep in top billing, while
Cassie Henderson and
Christina Ekkela clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 final in no. 2 doubles.

Evelyn Taylor and
Sarah Emory excelled in no. 3 doubles with a 6-0 finish.
- Taylor continued to roll in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 performance in the top slot. Henderson added on a 6-1, 6-0 finish in second billing, before Connaughty clinched the first conference match of the season for the Eagles.
- Ekkela and Plenty posted matching 6-0, 6-0 finishes in no. 4 and 5 singles respectively.
- Emory wrapped up the impressive match with a 6-1, 6-0 tally in the sixth slot.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College only dropped three games on route to the 7-0 sweep.
- The Eagles are now 19-0 all-time against Marian.
