WAUWATOSA, WIS. – The women's tennis squad continued their strong start to their 2024-25 season Friday. They faced off with the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) tilt. The Eagles (5-0, 2-0 NACC) rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Warriors (1-3, 0-3).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College set the tone for the day with a pair of doubles victories to clinch the doubles point.
Evelyn Taylor and
Madelyn Connaughty claimed a 6-4 victory in top billing, before
Cassie Henderson and
Emma Dillon earned a 6-3 victory in no. 3 doubles.

Christina Ekkela and
Hattie Plenty dropped a 6-3 final in doubles.
- Taylor bounced back for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 win in top singles. Henderson performed similarly in second billing with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 rally in no. 2 singles.
- Ekkela came from behind for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 final in no. 3 singles to clinch the victory.
- Connaughty continued her strong day in singles with a 6-1, 6-1 tally in fourth billing.
- Plenty bounced back for a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the fifth slot.

Sarah Emory wrapped up the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win in no. 6 singles.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles are 23-2 all-time against Wisconsin Lutheran.
- Edgewood College's 5-0 start is their best since the 2020-21 season.
