Box Score SAINT PETER, MINN. – The Edgewood College Eagles men's tennis team competed at the Midwest Open this weekend. The tandem of
Andrew Hoffmann and
Justin Hutchcroft reached the third round of their doubles bracket, while
Jon Olafsson and Hoffmann each earned victories in singles action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olafsson fell to Carson Haack of Northwestern (MN) 6-1, 7-5 in his singles bracket, while Hutchcroft dropped a 6-0, 6-1 final to Lucca Zonta Paladini of UW-Superior.

William Faley was defeated by Sean Sonoiki of Loras 6-0, 6-1.
Taite Thomas lost by a 6-0, 6-1 margin to Juan Diego Carpio of Grinnell.
- Hoffmann reached the second round of his singles bracket with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Eli Swanstrom of Wartburg. He conceded a 6-3, 6-1 final to Kenny Schameising of UW-La Crosse in round two.
- Henry Condo of Loras beat
Ethan Towne 6-1, 6-3.
Marek Woytasik conceded a 6-1, 6-2 tally to Jake Lucas of Gustavus Adolphus.
- In doubles, Thomas/Faley lost 8-0 to Ness/Martin of Concordia Moorhead. Olafsson/Woytasik fell 8-2 to Kotari/Doane of Grinnell.
- Hoffmann/Hutchcroft won their first round match 8-4 over Heidke/Ellison of UW-Eau Claire. They pushed past Kryscio/Hettstedt of UW-Stevens Point 8-5, before falling by an 8-6 margin to Davis/Matera of Warburg in the third round.
- In consolation singles, Olafsson reached the second round. He defeated Santi Busian of Concordia Moorhead 8-5 before conceding an 8-5 final to Zach Chaffey of Bethel.
- Woytasik dropped an 8-1 final to Watson Sheard of Bethel.
- Thomas fell 8-3 to Gideon Heins of BLC.
- In consolation doubles, Towne/Faley dropped an 8-1 result to Knugovi/Abaraca of UW-Superior.
