VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team saw their five-game winning streak fall on Wednesday evening against Illinois Tech. The Eagles opened conference play against the Scarlet Hawks, falling 6-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Illinois Tech (4-2-0, 1-0-0 NACC) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard on Wednesday, netting their first goal at the 2:01 mark. Catie Chismarich scored for the Scarlet Hawks to give them a 1-0 advantage.
- Chismarich would score again for Illinois Tech in the 26th minute. The Scarlet Hawks 2-0 advntage would hold through to halftime.
- The Scarlet Hawks weren't satisfied with just two goals, scoring a whopping four more times in the second half. Chismarich completed the hat trick in the 66th minute.
- Allison Murray scored the fourth goal for Illinois Tech in the 71st minute.
- Mary Frampton and Kaitlyn Walsh scored goals five and six for the Scarlet Hawks
- Rylee Brotz managed three shots, two on goal on Wednesday evening.
- Emma Swenson earned the start in net for Edgewood College (5-1-1, 0-1-0 NACC). The freshman made four saves. Hailey Corcoran managed three saves in 45 minutes.
