MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles kicked off their 2024-25 home slate at a beautiful Quann Park Saturday. They continued their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) battles with a tilt against the MSOE Raiders. The Eagles (6-0, 3-0 NACC) dominated in a 6-1 victory over the Raiders (2-3, 2-1).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College would drop only two games on route to claiming the doubles point. The duo of
Emma Dillon and
Cassie Henderson in no. 3 doubles earned a clean 6-0 victory.
- The pairs of
Evelyn Taylor/
Madelyn Connaughty and
Christina Ekkela/
Hattie Plenty earned 6-1 wins in top and second billing respectively.
- The Eagles continued to roll through singles. Taylor blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in the first slot, while Henderson earned a 6-1, 6-1 final in no. 2 singles.
- Ekkela clinched the victory for Edgewood College with a 6-1, 6-0 showing in the third slot.
- Connaughty carried her momentum from doubles into singles, winning 6-2, 6-4 in the fourth slot. Plenty added on a 6-1, 6-0 victory in fifth billing.

Sarah Emory battled hard in the sixth slot, dropping a 7-5, 6-4 final.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With the victory, the Eagles remained perfect all-time against MSOE. They have a 20-0 record in the series.
UP NEXT
Edgewood College will head up to Saint Peter, Minn. to compete in the ITA Midwest Regional next weekend. The event is scheduled to run from September 20 to Monday, September 23.
