High octane offense propels Eagles past UW-River Falls

VERONA, Wis. – High scoring offense has become a consistent sight for the Edgewood College men's soccer team in 2024. The Eagles continued their form on Saturday, defeating first-year program UW-River Falls 8-0. Five different players scored in the victory, led by a hat trick from Miguel Konde Gwo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- An early penalty kick gave Edgewood College (4-1-1) an opportunity to take a lead in the third minute. Konde Gwo buried the penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season.

- The senior, Konde Gwo, continued to shine for the Eagles, scoring again in the 22nd minute off a pass from Aldon Lumani.

- Connor Gage got in on the scoring action just 22 seconds after the second goal to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage. He added his second goal of the day in the 27th minute for a convincing 4-0 lead.

- Jack Douma scored his first collegiate goal in the 40th minute to solidify a 5-0 lead into halftime.

- Konde Gwo didn't slow down, scoring his third and final goal of the evening, in the 52nd minute. The senior collecting his second hat trick of the season.

- Joshua Kerr and Connor Thompson added to the offensive onslaught for the Eagles. Kerr, netting his first goal in an Edgewood College uniform.

- Konde Gwo added two assists on the evening.

- Beckham Murrow, and Gage assisted on goals from Kerr and Konde Gwo.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Konde Gwo owns a 21 career goals across two years with the Eagles. His mark is good for 13th in the Edgewood College record book.

- The 2024 Eagles are the first team to reach 33 goals on the season just six contests in.

- 16 different Eagles have scored so far this season.
