MADISON – The men's tennis squad entered their third match in as many days as they looked to get back on the winning track. They faced off with the Lakeland Muskies in an important Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) battle. The Eagles (2-12, 1-3 NACC) earned their first conference victory of the season with an 8-1 victory over the Muskies (0-3, 0-3).
HOW IT HAPPENED

Jon Olafsson and
Marek Woytasik set the tone for the day in second doubles. They earned an 8-0 sweep.

Caden Nelson and
Andrew Hoffmann followed it up with a 8-5 victory in top doubles. The tandem of
Alton Robinson and
William Faley fell just short in an 8-6 loss in no. 3 doubles.
- Hoffmann continued to shine, kicking off singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in third singles. Woytasik kept the momentum going with a 6-1, 6-1 win in no. 4 singles.
- Nelson clinched the victory for Edgewood College. He won 6-2, 6-1 as the top singles player.
- Olafsson played well in no. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 final.
Ethan Towne claimed a 6-2, 6-1 victory in sixth singles.
- Robinson finished off the singles sweep in dramatic fashion. He won 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) to wrap up the match.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The victory was the first NACC victory of the season and snapped a nine-match losing streak.
- The Eagles are undefeated against Lakeland in program history, having an 11-0 record against their conference foe.

Edgewood College will host their home finale next Saturday at Quann Park. They will take on the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in the NACC tilt.
