MADISON – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis continued their spring non-conference slate Saturday at Quann Park. They squared off with the UW-Stevens Point Pointers. The Eagles (12-6) came out ahead, taking down the Pointers (8-11) in 6-3 fashion.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Cecile Fuchs and
Evelyn Taylor set the tone for the pair's strong day in doubles. They won an 8-3 tilt in top billing.
- After
Jewel Lindwall and
Maddy Coopmans fell 8-5 in the second slot,
Ellie Murphy and
Madelyn Connaughty would send Edgewood College into singles up 2-1 with an 8-5 victory as the no. 3 doubles pair.
- Lindwall bounced back with a 6-3, 6-4 final as the no. 2 singles player.
- Fuchs and Taylor continued to roll in singles. Fuchs won 6-1, 6-2 and Taylor 6-3, 6-3 in first and third singles respectively. Taylor's victory would clinch the match.

Cassie Henderson recorded the final point for Edgewood College in a thriller. After dropping her first set in the sixth singles bout, she rallied to win a 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8) affair.
- Murphy dropped a 6-0, 6-4 final in no. 4 singles, while
Christina Ekkela dropped a 6-0, 6-2 match in fifth billing.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The victory snapped a three-match losing streak to UW-Stevens Point.

The Eagles will wrap up their tune-ups for the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament next Saturday. They will host the Carroll Pios and Loras Duhawks in a twinbill at Quann Park. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
