Warriors topple Eagles in NACC action

MADISON – The Edgewood College Eagles men's tennis squad returned to action Friday at the Powless Tennis Center. They faced off with a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) foe in the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors. The Warriors (3-8, 1-1 NACC) emerged as the victor in 7-2 fashion against the Eagles (1-11, 0-3).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marek Woytasik and Jon Olafsson highlighted doubles for Edgewood College. They won an 8-5 battle in second billing.
 
- The tandems of Caden Nelson/Andrew Hoffmann and Alton Robinson/William Faley fell by identical 8-2 margins in no. 1 and no. 3 doubles.

- Hoffmann claimed the other match point for the Eagles in singles. He won 6-2, 6-3 in third billing.
 
- Nelson was defeated 6-0, 6-3 in the first slot while Olafsson dropped a 6-1, 6-3 final in no. 2 singles.
 
- Woytasik fell in fourth singles. Robinson lost a 6-0, 6-0 bout as the no. 5 player.
 
- Towne wrapped up the day with a 6-3, 6-0 loss in the sixth slot.
 
UP NEXT
Edgewood College plays their second match in as many days tomorrow. They will face off with the UW-Stevens Point Pointers at the Powless Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
