DE PERE, WIS. – In the second time in as many days, the Edgewood College Eagles men's tennis squad battled in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action. They traveled up north to face the St. Norbert Green Knights. The Eagles (1-10, 0-2 NACC) struggled with a strong Green Knights (6-8, 1-0) squad, falling in 9-0 fashion.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Norbert controlled doubles. They took down
Andrew Hoffmann and
Jon Olafsson 8-0 in top doubles.
Marek Woytasik and
Alton Robinson dropped an 8-1 final as the no. 2 pair, while
William Faley and Ethane Towne fell to an identical 8-1 margin in third billing.
- Woytasik battled hard in third singles. He won the lone set of the day for Edgewood College with a 6-3 victory in the first set, but dropped 6-4 and 1-0 (10-8) margins in defeat.
- Olafsson lost 6-2, 6-2 in top billing while Hoffmann hung around with a 6-3, 6-4 loss in second singles.
- Robinson fell in fourth singles 6-1, 6-0. Towne was defeated in 6-0, 6-2 fashion before Faley wrapped up the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 loss.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will take a week off before hosting three matches in three days. They will start things off with the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors at Quann Park Friday, April 5. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.in the NACC tilt.
