ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLA. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis squad started the second half of their Spring Break trip Wednesday. They faced off with in-state foe UW-La Crosse Eagles. UW-La Crosse (14-3) controlled the match, winning 7-2 over Edgewood College (11-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED

Cecile Fuchs and
Evelyn Taylor were a bright spot on the day in no. 1 doubles. They earned an 8-4 victory.

Maddy Coopmans and
Jewel Lindwall fell 8-3 in second billing, while UW-La Crosse headed into singles up 2-1 in the match with an 8-1 win against
Ellie Murphy and
Madelyn Connaughty.
- Taylor continued to play well in singles. She claimed a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory in no. 3 singles.
- Fuchs would fall in an 6-0, 6-1 decision in top billing and Lindwall 6-2, 6-2 in the second slot.
- Murphy hung tough in fourth singles, losing by a 6-3, 6-4 final.

Christina Ekkela and
Cassie Henderson wrapped up the affair with a 6-0, 6-1 loss in no. 5 singles and a 6-2, 6-0 defeat in no. 6 singles respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The meeting was the 11th between the two programs.
UP NEXT
Edgewood College will wrap up their Spring Break tomorrow afternoon. They will take on the Hope Flying Dutchmen with first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m. EDT in Orlando, Fla. The Flying Dutchmen won the lone previous meeting back in 2017.
