MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team dropped a 57-54 heartbreaker to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday evening. In a contest that saw 17 lead changes and nine tie scores, the Eagles led by five points at four different junctures. Ultimately, a 16 point fourth quarter from the Warriors was the difference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (13-11, 12-3 NACC) relied on the long ball early on, connecting on 4-of-5 (80 percent) from beyond the arc in the first quarter and building a five point lead twice in the opening 10 minutes. Wisconsin Lutheran (19-4, 14-1 NACC) would storm back within one point (14-13) to trail the Eagles heading into the second quarter.
- The Eagles continued to chip away at the Warriors in the second quarter, scoring 17 points and leading by five points (31-26) at halftime. It was a dominating 10 point run to end the second quarter by the Eagles. Molly Garrity was a bucket from three-point range, knocking it down twice in the final 1:46 of the quarter.
- Wisconsin Lutheran were consistent in the paint in the third quarter, scoring eight of their 15 points from close range. The Warriors cut into the Eagles lead multiple times in the quarter and only trailed by one point (42-41) going into the final quarter.
- It was all for the taking in the fourth quarter, and the Warriors came through for the win on the back of their best shooting of the night, a 58.33 (7-of-12) percent shooting percentage from the floor. The Eagles and Warriors traded the lead five times in the final 10 minutes. Ultimately, the Warriors scored five-straight points to end the night with the three point lead, and the win.

- Jayden Nortier led the Eagles with 17 points.
- Vivian Guerrero recorded 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four blocks.
THE OPPOSITION
- Same Leisemann posted a 24 point, 10 rebound double-double.
- Margie Stevens pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and added nine points.
- Mack Hogenson collected 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting.
