MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team ended 2024 on a high, taking down North Central College in the Todd Wehr Edgedome on New Year's Eve. HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (6-5) took advantage of streaky play by North Central College (5-6) to finish 2024 with a record above .500 on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals managed to score early in every quarter but struggled to convert key scoring opportunities down the stretch. The Eagles defense was confident in the non-conference victory, forcing 16 turnovers from North Central and collecting nine steals.
- It was a back-and-forth affair in the opening 10 minutes. North Central led 18-17 after the first quarter thanks to three points from Jocelyn Trotter in the final 30 seconds. Edgewood College didn't back down, recording three makes from beyond the arc in the opening quarter.
- Edgewood College shut down the North Central attack in the second quarter, holding the Cardinals to just 21.1 percent (4-for-19) shooting. The Eagles went on a 10-0 run to end the quarter with a 31-26 advantage.
