HILO, Hawaii – The Edgewood College women's basketball team took home their third non-conference victory of the season on Wednesday, wrapping up their time at the Big Island Holiday Classic with a victory. Four Eagles recorded double-digit scoring, as the Eagles took home a 69-59 win over Fontbonne University.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (5-5) took a 16-12 lead after the first quarter of action on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles took advantage of timely three-point shooting from Kenzie Senffner to take an early 8-4 lead at the halfway point of the quarter.
- 14 points in the second quarter gave Edgewood College a 30-22 lead over Fontbonne (1-7) going into halftime.
- The Griffins recorded their best shooting in the third quarter, scoring 18 points and recording 66.67 percent shooting from the floor. Three makes from beyond the arc led Fontbonne to outscore the Eagles by two points in the third quarter. Despite a strong effort from the Griffins, the Eagles took a six point (46-40) advantage into the final 10 minutes of action.
- The Eagles closed out the contest with a game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter, shooting 55.56 percent (10-for-18) from the floor and 42.86 percent (3-for-7) from beyond the arc.
- Edgewood College pulled down 47 rebounds on Wednesday afternoon, 22 of which came on the offensive side of the ball.
- The Eagles dished out 20 assists, led by Vivian Guerrro with six assists.
- Kallie Norby posted a 15 point, 10 rebound double-double to lead the Eagles. She added four assists on the afternoon.
- Kenzie Senffner posted 15 points on the afternoon. All five of the senior's makes came from three-point range.
- Jordan Carlquist knocked down 11 points and dished out four assists.
- Moli Haak posted a season-high 10 points and pulled down five rebounds.
THE OPPOSITION
- Ja'mise Bailey recorded a 32 point, 13 rebound double-double to lead the Griffins.
- Piper Fitzgerald added 14 points.
- Fontbonne shot a game-best 66.67 percent (6-for-9) in the third quarter, including three makes from three-point range.

- Edgewood College will return home to host North Central College on Tuesday, December 31. Action is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
