WHITEWATER, WIS. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis squad hit the road for non-conference action. They took on the UW-Whitewater Warhawks. The Warhawks (4-1) proved to be too much for the Eagles (9-1), ending their unbeaten streak with a 7-0 result.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-Whitewater struck first in doubles, downing
Evelyn Taylor and
Marissa Light 6-0. The tandem of
Christina Ekkela and
Cassie Henderson fell in no. 3 doubles 6-3 as the hosts earned the doubles point.

Hattie Plenty and
Madelyn Connaughty dropped a 6-3 final in no. 2 doubles.
- Ekkela fell 6-0, 6-1 in no. 5 singles before Taylor lost a 6-0, 6-0 result in top billing. Plenty conceded a 6-1, 6-1 match in no. 6 singles.
- Henderson was defeated 6-0, 6-2 in no. 3 singles. Connaughty battled in a 6-1, 6-4 loss in fourth billing, before the Warhawks claimed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Light.

The Eagles will look to bounce back and start a new streak against the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Chicago, Ill.
