MONTGOMERY, Ill. – Two goals from Aurora University in the second half resulted in a conference draw for the Edgewood College women's soccer team on Wednesday. Stephanie Kalscheuer and Grace Johnson recorded goals for the Eagles in the NACC battle.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (8-3-2, 2-3-1 NACC) and Aurora University (2-8-3, 1-3-3 NACC) battled for 41 minutes before either team would score. Kalscheuer got the Eagles on the board first in the 42nd minute, assisted by Reese Meszaros.
- McKenna Kunz scored the equalizer for the Spartans in 63rd minute. Her goal assisted by Lauren Bliefernicht and Larissa Barreto.
- The Eagles quickly responded, with a goal from Johnson off a free kick in the 65th minute.
- Bliefernicht scored the fourth goal of the evening in the 80th minute to result in the draw.
- Edgewood College led Aurora 24-6 in shots on the evening. 18 shots from the Eagles were on net.
- Greta Blau posted 10 shots in the NACC battle, putting seven shots on goal.
- Hailey Corcoran went the distance in net for the Eagles, making three saves. Her counterpart, Melina Cane managed 16 saves.
