Konde Gwo lifts Eagles to victory over Spartans

VERONA, Wis. – Four goals from Miguel Konde Gwo earned the Edgewood College men's soccer team a thrilling 4-2 victory over Aurora University on Wednesday evening. The Eagles handed Aurora their first conference loss of the season to move to the top of the NACC standings through six conference contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Konde Gwo and Conor Bruce found a connection for the first two goals by Edgewood College (10-1-2, 5-0-1 NACC). Konde Gwo's first goal came in the 27th minute, quickly followed by a goal from Aurora's Branden Dolezal with 27:07 on the clock.

- The Eagles confidence wasn't impacted by the Spartans equalizer, as Konde Gwo and Bruce connected again for a 2-1 lead.

- The hat trick was reached by Konde Gwo in the 39th minute, as a scramble in front of the net was completed by the senior.

- Konde Gwo netted the Eagles fourth and final goal of the evening just six minutes into the second quarter. A 4-1 lead gave Edgewood College a confident lead.

- Dolezal netted his 12th goal of the season on a corner kick in the 81st minute, but it was too little too late for the Spartans.

- Maverick Van Laanen recorded five saves to anchor the Eagles defense. His counterpart Alex Ageladelis made seven saves in net for the Spartans.
