Eagles down Falcons in Late Night Conference Battle

VERONA, Wis. – Five goals and a shutout gave the Edgewood College men's soccer team their sixth conference victory of the season on Saturday night. Four Eagles scored in the late-night conference battle between Edgewood College and Concordia Wisconsin. With six contests left in the regular season, the Eagles broke the single season records for goals scored and points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miguel Konde Gwo got Edgewood College (11-1-2, 6-0-1 NACC) on the board in the 20th minute, his goal assisted by Jack Knight.

- The Eagles continued to put the pressure on the Falcons, scoring in the 23rd minute from Cristian Torres-Gale for a 2-0 lead.

- Joshua Kerr came off the bench to score twice in the first half to give the Eagles a confident 4-0 lead into halftime.

- Brandon Kaup netted his third goal of the season in the 70th minute to solidify the 5-0 final.

- Konde Gwo and Torres-Gale both recorded two assists in the conference victory.

- Maverick Van Laanen and Griffin Meisterheim split time in net for the Eagles. Their counterpart Enrique Torres recorded eight saves for Concordia Wisconsin.

- Edgewood College outshot Concordia Wisconsin 28-3 on the evening, with just one shot on goal from the Falcons.

- 27 Eagles competed on Saturday evening and continued to pressure Concordia Wisconsin (2-8-2, 2-6-0 NACC) even through the second half, taking 17 shots in the final 45 minutes.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College owns the team season record for goals at 60. The Eagles passed the 1998 team, who owned 55 goals scored. The Eagles added the points record with 162 points.

- The Eagles remain a perfect 7-0 at Edgewood College Field in 2024. Men's Soccer has scored at least four goals a game at home in every game this season.
