VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with Concordia Chicago on Wednesday. The Eagles attack had many opportunities in the second half, but the Cougars defense kept Edgewood College off the scoreboard.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College's (9-5-3, 3-5-2 NACC) best opportunity for a goal came in the final three minutes. Reaghan Spencer sent a ball whizzing over the Concordia Chicago (7-7-4, 3-4-4 NACC) defense, nailing the right woodwork and missing the back of the net by inches.
- The Eagles posted 17 shots in the contest, with 10 of them coming in the second half of action. Five of the Eagles shots came on target.
- Concordia Chicago didn't manage a shot in the first half, thanks to a hard-working Eagles back line. The Cougars took three shots in the second half, with two on net.
- Daniella Reyes managed five shots, two on goal for the Eagles. Kamy Luecke and Grace Johnson both recorded four shots, one each on goal.
- Hailey Corcoran recorded two saves in net for Edgewood College. Her counterpart Brooke Sheriff recorded five saves in net.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College and Concordia Chicago battle to a scoreless draw for the second-straight year. The last goal scored between the two teams came from the Eagles in a 4-0 win in 2022.
