RIVER FOREST, ILL. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis squad continued their trip down in Illinois Saturday. They squared off with the Concordia Chicago Cougars in another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) battle. The Eagles (11-1, 8-0 NACC) dispatched the Cougars (3-10, 3-6) 7-0 to clinch the top overall seed in the NACC Tournament and the regular season conference crown.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College controlled doubles. Christina Ekkela and Cassie Henderson claimed a 6-0 clean slate in third billing. Evelyn Taylor and Marissa Light clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory in the top slot.
 
- Hattie Plenty and Madelyn Connaughty won 6-3 in no. 2 doubles.
 
- Kathryn Lauger shined in no. 6 singles with a 6-1,6-2 victory. Plenty followed up the act with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the fifth slot.
 
- Light clinched the victory with a 6-0, 6-1 final in the second slot.
   
- Henderson continued her strong play in conference with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in no. 3 singles.
 
- Ekkela posted a 6-1, 6-3 final in fourth billing.
 
- Taylor duked it out in the no. 1 slot. She won 6-1, 1-6, 1-0 (10-3) to put a bow on the sweep for the Eagles.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With the victory, Edgewood College clinched the regular season conference crown. The title is their 19th conference title in program history and their first since the 2021-22 season.
   
- The tandem of Plenty/Connaughty finished NACC play with an undefeated 6-0 record
