MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team locked down their ninth NACC win of the season with a final score of 78-66 over Alverno College. Eight different Eagles contributed to the scoring effort on Saturday night, as Jayden Nortier, Vivian Guerrero, Kallie Norby, and Kenzie Senffner led the way with double digits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (10-9, 9-1 NACC) came out of the gates quick against Alverno College (3-15, 1-8 NACC) on Saturday. The Eagles only allowed six points from the Inferno in the first 10 minutes, four of which came in the final two minutes of action. Edgewood College took a large 19-2 lead with 2:21 remaining in the first quarter, thanks to points from five different Eagles.
- The Inferno outscored the Eagles 17-16 in the second quarter, thanks to a 54.55 percent (6-of-11) shooting percentage from the floor. Edgewood College maintained their lead going into halftime with a score of 36-23.
- Alverno continued to chip away at the Eagles lead in the third quarter, scoring 23 points. Edgewood College were steady offensively, scoring 20 points and shooting a game-high 61.54 percent (8-of-13) from the floor.
- The Eagles posted their third quarter of 20 or more points in the final quarter on Saturday. 22 points was enough for the Eagles to hold on to their lead and take the victory from the host Inferno.
- Jayden Nortier led the Eagles with 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor.
- Vivian Guerrero posted a 15 point, 12 rebound double-double.
- Kallie Norby recorded 15 points, pulled down seven rebounds, and dished out four assists.
- Kenzie Senffner recorded 12 points, pulled down eight rebounds, and added four assists.
THE OPPOSITION
- Shiauna Nixon-Boyd posted a game-high 27 points for the Inferno. Dionna Woodson added 11 points and five rebounds.
