LISLE, Ill. – Two was the magic number for the Edgewood College women's soccer team on Wednesday evening. Edgewood College defeated Benedictine 2-1, moving to 3-2-0 in conference play. Greta Blau and Rylee Brotz were the two goal scorers for Edgewood College, one coming early and one later in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (5-3-3, 3-2-0 NACC) led 1-0 at halftime. Greta Blau scored from the start, finding the back of the net with just 1:07 off the clock. Blau's goal would hold as the only score of the game for the following 77 minutes.
- At halftime, Edgewood College held a shots advantage 10-2 over Benedictine (2-6-1, 2-3-0 NACC).
- The next score of the game came in the 79th minute, as Rylee Brotz found the back of the net for the sixth time this season, assisted by Blau.
- Edgewood College maintained the 2-0 advantage until a late goal from Jocelyn Yabarra gave Benedictine their first and only score of the evening.
- Brotz led Edgewood College with five shots, three on goal. Blau added four shots, three on goal. Kayla Kerkman recorded two shots, one on goal.
- Hailey Hartel played all 90 minutes in net for Edgewood College, making two saves. Katherine Brochnow recorded six saves for Benedictine.

- Edgewood College moves to a 16-4 all-time record vs Benedictine in the victory. This is their second-straight win over Benedictine.
- Brotz improves to a team-leading six goals on the season, her best in a season after netting five goals in her freshman campaign.
