Eagles net NACC victory behind second half goals

VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team earned their first conference victory of the season under the lights at Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park. The Eagles shutout Rockford University 2-0 on Wednesday evening. Rylee Brotz and Marley Satran connected for the Eagles for two second half goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With 58:13 on the clock Kamy Luecke played a ball ahead to Rylee Brotz from midfield. Brotz managed to get a good run through the Regents box and easily netted the Eagles first goal of the evening.

- Once the Eagles got on the board, their confidence soared. Just 12 minutes later, Marley Satran netted her fourth goal of the season, assisted by Kayla Kerkman. Satran converted a long pass from the midfield, finding the opposite corner of the net for the 2-0 lead.

- Edgewood College (3-3-2, 1-2-0 NACC) outshot the Rockford (3-4-0, 0-3-0 NACC) 18-1 on the evening. The Eagles put 11 shots on goal.

- The Eagles defense worked hard to keep the ball in the attacking third of the pitch. In addition, they didn't allow any shots on goal from Rockford.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College extends their winning streak over the Regents to 14. The Eagles lead the all-time series 17-3-1.

- Just eight games into the season and goals leader Satran has matched her season-best with four goals. In 2022 she netted four goals for the Eagles. She currently owns 10 goals for the Eagles all-time.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will look to stay on the winning side on Saturday as they head to Alverno College. Action is set for 12:00 p.m. from Milwaukee, Wis.
