Eagles Cross Country Preview

The Edgewood College cross country squads enter a new era under first year head coach Matthew Heinzman after a successful 2022 that saw Ally Verbauwhede and Rachel Ehrhart be the first Eagles pair to reach the NCAA Nationals and several sizable personal best improvements.

“On the women’s side I am excited to see how the season turns out,” said Heinzman. “We have an excellent group of women who are committed to working hard and trusting the process. Another remarkable thing is this group has made it clear that they are not running for themselves but instead for each other.”

“The men’s team is hungry and ready to build something special this year. They have seen the recent success on the women’s side, and they are motivated to build off that same success. The upperclassmen of Blaine, Kadin, and Brett are determined to turn the ship and culture here."

2023 Cross Country Schedule

The Eagles are set to run in seven meets in their 2023 slate. They open on Thursday, September 1 with the Rockford University River Invite, followed by the Green Bay Phoenix Open on Friday, September 8. They will run at the NCAA Pre-Nationals on Saturday, October 7 followed by the Private College Championships on Saturday, October 14. They will wrap up their regular season at the NACC Championships on Saturday, October 28,
