Eagles Cross Country Preview

The Edgewood College Women’s Cross Country team is coming off their third-straight NACC Championship in 2020. Set for year 18 under head coach Bethany Brewster, the Eagles return four runners on the women’s side and five runners on the men’s side. Ally Verbauwhede will lead the women’s side after earning All-NACC honors in the 2020 season, while 2020 NACC Runner of the Meet and All-NACC runner Lucas Caminiti will headline the men’s team.

The Eagles are set to run in seven meets throughout the fall season, beginning with the Beloit College Early Bird on Wednesday, September 1. The team will look forward to sending select athletes to the NCAA Prenational Meet on Saturday, October 2. The Wisconsin Private College Championships on Saturday, October 16 will be a highlight, followed by the NACC Championships on Saturday, October 23. The women’s squad will look to pull out a fourth-straight NACC Championship, while the men’s team will look to return to glory for the first time since 2009.

Head Coach Bethany Brewster

Bethany Brewster
Bethany Brewster is in her 18th year leading the Edgewood College Cross Country programs. She guided the women’s team to a third-straight NACC Championship in 2020 as the Eagles had five runners earn All-NACC honors for the second-straight year. Brewster was also named the NACC Coach of the Year once again. On the men’s side, Brewster guided Lucas Caminiti to win all three of his races in the 2020 shortened season, including the NACC Championships where he secured NACC Runner of the Year honors.
