MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles softball squad continued their opening Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference slate Monday. They battled against Concordia Wisconsin, ranked no. 20 in the NFCA national poll. The Eagles (11-8,1-2 NACC) fell to a dominant pitching performance by the Falcons (13-3, 2-1) in game one 3-0. Game two was not completed due to weather and plans are pending for when it will be made up.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College was almost no-hit by Gina Followell. She threw a complete game, striking out 11 Eagles in seven innings while allowing just one hit and walking two.
- Concordia Wisconsin tallied three runs. A double up the middle in the third sent home a pair, while a single up the middle added on an insurance run in the sixth.

Gaby Slater took the loss on the day. She allowed seven hits in six innings pitched with three strikeouts to her name.
- Jess Pozezinki was a centerpiece to the Falcons lineup. She was three-of-four at the plate with a run. Megan Bloyer tallied two RBIs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Game two was held in the top of the fourth due to inclement weather and will be made up at a later date.
- The Eagles hold a 36-35 lead in the series still. Concordia Wisconsin has won ten straight between the conference foes.
- The loss was only the second time Edgewood College has been left scoreless in 2023.
UP NEXT
The Eagles return home Saturday for more NACC action. They host Wisconsin Lutheran at Ceniti Park in Verona, Wis. Edgewood College swept the doubleheader last year and holds a 44-24 lead in the all-time series.
