WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's tennis team faced one of its toughest tests of the season in a road match at UW-Whitewater Tuesday. The Eagles fell to the Warhawks 9-0 in non-conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (12-7) fell behind 3-0 after doubles play. The Eagles closest battle came at No. 3 doubles, as Ellie Murphy and Evelyn Taylor battled to an 8-6 finish with Courtney Day and Giana Nikoleit. Cecile Fuchs and Madelyn Connaughty took five games off of Autumn Bruno and Cassie Lee at No. 1 singles.
- UW-Whitewater (11-4) took all six singles matches. The Eagles managed to take a few games off of the Warhawks, but eventually fell in straight sets.
- Cecile Fuchs managed to take her second set to a score of 6-4, but fell to Nikoleit by a final of 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
