Eagles fall short in pitchers duel against Golden Eagles

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Edgewood College Eagles baseball squad continued the back end of their Spring Break trip Friday morning. They faced the Spalding Golden Eagles in the Studer's Blue Wahoos Stadium Challenge. The Eagles (5-5) faced tough sledding against the Golden Eagles (9-2) pitching and fell in 2-1 fashion.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Edgewood College got the tying run to second on a sacrifice bunt in the ninth, but a strike out looking saved the game for the Golden Eagles.

- The pitchers were the stars of the show. Kyle Jungers threw a complete game gem while suffering the defeat, facing 28 batters in eight innings while allowing only six hits.

- Jake Mueller earned the victory for Spalding, while Wesley Clark shut down the Eagles in an extended save. Clark tossed five strikeouts and allowed one hit in four innings on the mound.
