MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's volleyball squad continued their trek through the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament Thursday night. The top seed, they hosted the fourth-seeded Concordia Wisconsin Falcons at the Todd Wehr Edgedome for a semifinal test. The Eagles (22-10) battled hard against a tough Falcons (15-14) squad, but in the end Edgewood College advanced to the finals in 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 29-27) fashion.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles took a 7-2 lead in the opening points of the semifinal, but Concordia Wisconsin hung around. They clawed back into the match after an 8-4 stretch to come within 18-17 striking distance, before battling to a 21-21 tie with some help from Edgewood College. The Eagles clicked when it mattered with four unanswered for a 1-0 lead in the match.
- The squads jockeyed for position in frame two, but Edgewood College claimed the first real lead with a 5-1 rally and a 12-9 advantage. The Falcons once again stood tough and four straight kills from Jaydin Vosters tied the set at 20 apiece. Responding in kind, the Eagles put together five in a row to close the set, including three kills from
Katie Borchert.
- Concordia Wisconsin would not go quietly into the night as the two teams were locked in a third set struggle. An 8-2 rally put the Falcons ahead 20-15, but Edgewood College stepped up to the task. Digging deep, they put together a 9-3 surge to flip the script and sit within match point, Back-to-back points from the visitors forced bonus rallies, but the Eagles would not be denied as they punched their ticket to the NACC Tournament Final with a 5-2 run.
- Edgewood College was a force on offense and defense. They finished the night with sizable advantages in hitting percentage (.228-to-.083) and blocks (12-to-6).

Abigail Hoffmann once again did a little bit of everything. She earned eight kills, eight digs, 18 assists, four blocks, and three service aces with a .350 hitting percentage on 20 attempts.

Ashley Bruehlman swung for 10 kills on the evening and recorded a .292 attack percentage with 24 swings.
- Four Eagles finished with four or more blocks.
Abbey Falk led the squad with six, while Borchert continued her strong stretch of play at the net with five blocks and seven kills.
Hannah Clark rounded out the group with four blocks.

Jennacy Wille tallied 11 digs while
Zoee Pond swung for six kills and a pair of blocks.
- Mickenzie Benter shined for Concordia Wisconsin with 35 assists, while Abby Proefrock dug 18 swings.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The victory sent Edgewood College to their first NACC Tournament Final since the 2015 season.
- The Eagles won both matchups against the Falcons this season, both of which were home affairs.
- The 22 victories in 2023 are the program's most since 2015.
- Wille's 495 digs on the season is good for 14th on the program's all-time single season record books.
UP NEXT
Edgewood College will host the second-seeded Aurora Spartans for a NACC Tournament Final with a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament on the line. First serve at the Edgedome is scheduled for noon on Saturday. The Eagles won a five-set thriller at home earlier this season against the Spartans and both teams claimed shares of the NACC regular season crown.
