ttackMADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's volleyball squad wrapped up their regular season Saturday with a tri-match at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. They hosted the undefeated UW-Oshkosh Titans, ranked second in the nation, and the Wheaton Thunder. The Titans (32-0) wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-19) victory over the Eagles (20-10) before sweeping the Thunder. Edgewood College and Wheaton (10-16) found themselves locked in an intense match, but in the end the Eagles came out on top 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 27-25).
MATCH ONE: NO. 2 UW-OSHKOSH 3, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-19)
- While the Eagles kept pace early in the frame, a 12-3 barrage by an efficient Titans offense effectively put the set away in the visitor's favor.
- The second set was a similar story to the first. With the teams tied at six apiece, the UW-Oshkosh attack took over with a 15-4 rally to put them in a commanding 2-0 position in the match.
- The Edgewood College blocking game fueled a 7-2 start to the third frame. The Titans offense got back in sync however, an 8-2 run pushing them ahead 16-13. A 5-2 answer pushed the Eagles back within a point, but UW-Oshkosh took over to seal the set and match on a 7-2 sprint.
- The Titans hitters were relentless, dominating in aces, kills, and assists. They outhit Edgewood College .289 to .079 on the afternoon.
- Riley Kindt acted as a cornerstone of the UW-Oshkosh attack, swinging for 12 kills and a .455 hitting percentage on 22 attempts. Kali Mau contributed heavily in the setter role with 26 assists.

Abigail Hoffmann tallied 11 kills for the hosts.
Abbey Eivins earned 11 assists, while
Ashley Bruehlman dug 11 hits in the loss.

Payton Millin blocked five swings as she stepped up in a key role for the Eagles defense.
MATCH TWO: EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 3, WHEATON 1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 27-25)
- A sluggish start from the Eagles coupled with a hot start by the Thunder put Edgewood College down 8-4 in the opening salvos. A 5-1 rally featuring all facets of the game pushed the Eagles to a 16-15 lead, but three unanswered from Wheaton gave them a critical two-point edge. Edgewood College would never hold the lead again as they fell down a set in the match.
- The two squads wrestled back and forth for control of set two, neither leading by more than two points through the first half of the set. The Eagles offense found their rhythm rattling off eight unanswered points featuring five kills and an ace to go up 21-14. The Thunder put together a last-minute 6-2 effort to close within 24-21, but a service error sealed their fate.
- A 4-1 Wheaton start was flipped on its head by five in a row from Edgewood College as they held onto a precious 6-4 lead. The edge proved to be critical, with a 4-1 follow-up from the hosts pushing the Thunder into a 12-9 hole. Wheaton would be tenacious but would never claim the lead or a tied set going forward. The Eagles would close the door on the set and a 2-1 match lead with a 4-1 finisher.
- A 6-2 start to set four put Edgewood College on proper footing. The Thunder would find their own footing midway through the frame, their offense and defense working in sync for a 6-1 response and a 17-16 lead. Three-straight would give the Eagles a 20-18 lead, but mistakes helped Wheaton to a 23-22 edge off a 5-2 answer. Two Hoffmann kills in a row put Edgewood College at match point, but two kills from Caroline Capps put the Thunder at set point 25-24. Another kill from Hoffmann evened the set, before a block by
Zoee Pond and Millin followed up by a kill from Millin finished the Eagles' regular season with a victory.
- The teams were in a virtual dead heat in hitting percentage, with Wheaton holding a slim .158 to .153 advantage. A key Edgewood College stat came with an 11-to-7 lead in blocks, while the Thunder defense proved stubborn with 82 digs.
- Bruehlman posted a 14-kill, 13-dig double-double and had a .262 hitting percentage on 42 attempts.
Katie Borchert earned a double-digit kill game with 11 of her own.
- The Eagles fielded an effective tandem of blockers in the victory. Millin had a seven-kill, six-block outing with a .208 hitting percentage on 24 swings, while Pond added five blocks and
Corrin Harrington four.
- Hoffmann finished with seven kills, five aces, and 15 assists as she came up big in several key moments.
- Wille dug 15 swings while
Kate Gunderson added on 12. Eivins finished her day with an additional 21 assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Millin's five blocks against UW-Oshkosh was her career-high, before she broke it with six against Wheaton. Her seven kills against the Thunder were also a new high watermark.
- With the victory against Wheaton the Eagles matched their win total from 2022. Their 20 wins ties for most since the 2015 season.
- Edgewood College is now 5-10 against the Thunder and have won two-straight.

The Eagles are off to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) postseason as the top overall seed after winning a share of the regular season crown. They will host the eight seed Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. Edgewood College won the regular season outing at Illinois Tech 3-1 (25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 25-22) and have a 4-1 lead in the all-time series.
