MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team and Concordia University Wisconsin battled to a scoreless tie Saturday afternoon at Fitting Field. It was the first conference tie of the season for both the Eagles and Falcons. Concordia Wisconsin held a slight advantage in shots on the afternoon, leading the Eagles 11-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin (4-7-1, 2-5-1 NACC) led the shots column 11-9 after 90 minutes of action. The Falcons managed to put five of their shots on goal, compared to just one from the Eagles.
- The best Edgewood College (7-5-2, 3-3-1 NACC) scoring opportunity came with just 14:04 on the clock in the second half. Aldon Lumani managed a shot following a corner kick that was saved by Brenden Hummer of Concordia Wisconsin.
- Lumani led the Eagles with three shots. Noah Hook wasn't far behind with two shots of his own.
- Alishan Sharipov led the Falcons with two shots, both on goal. Vladimir Campos and Joey Moua each took two shots, one on goal for both players.
- Maverick Van Laanen was a big part of holding down the Eagles defense. He managed five saves for Edgewood College, four of them coming in the second half.
