VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team dropped a NACC road tilt at Aurora University on Wednesday evening. The Eagles couldn't find the back of the net against the Spartans resulting in a 2-0 final.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora University (8-2-2, 6-0-1 NACC) struck first in the 32nd minute, as Enrique Gonzalez found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Gonzalez was assisted by Carlos Viayra and Jaziel Enriquez.
- Edgewood College (7-5-1, 3-3-0 NACC) was outshot by the Spartans 16-0 in the first half.
- The Spartans solidified the victory with just under 30 minutes remaining in the second half. Jaziel Enriquez netted his eighth goal of the season to give Aurora a 2-0 lead.
- Edgewood College tallied three shots on the evening. Miguel Konde Gwo, Aidan Schwalbe, and Elliah Tameklo each recorded a shot.
- Maverick Van Laanen recorded a career-best nine saves in net for the Eagles.
