Sabres best Eagles in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team scored first in their conference battle at Marian University. Unfortunately, the Sabres attack responded back in the second half with three goals of their own to take home the 3-1 final on Saturday. The Eagles suffered their sixth conference loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of action. Edgewood College (8-7-4, 5-6-1 NACC) only managed three shots in the first half of action, none on goal. Marian University (10-3-4, 9-2-1 NACC) led the first half with six shots, three on goal. Hailey Hartel was busy for the Eagles, making three saves to keep the contest scoreless going into the second half.

- Just one minute and 52 seconds into the second half, Marley Satran gave Edgewood College a 1-0 lead. Satran netted her eighth goal of the season, assisted by Kamy Luecke.

- The Sabres rallied back, tying things up a one-a-piece in the 62nd minute. Marian then took a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute, as Emily Gordillo found the back of the net, assisted by Abby Larson.

- Marian would tack on their third goal of the night in the 86th minute to put the contest out of reach.

- Hartel totaled seven saves for Edgewood College. Her counterpart, Chelsea King made three saves, all coming in the second half.

- Edgewood College will host St. Norbert College on Wednesday in the regular season finale. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. from Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park.
