Eight Eagles Score in rout of Mount Mary

VERONA, Wis. – On Monday evening the Edgewood College offense exploded for nine goals and routed Mount Mary University 9-0. Eight different Eagles found the back of the net in the non-conference match, as four players scored their first goal in an Edgewood College uniform.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was the highest scoring game of the season as Edgewood College (7-3-3) earned their third-straight win in dominant fashion. The Eagles impressed in the first half, as the offense scored five times and the defense shut down the Blue Angles attack.

- Rylee Brotz was responsible for the first goal for Edgewood College. The sophomore netted her eighth goal of the season with just 54 seconds off the game clock.

- It didn't take long for the goals to rack up, as Marley Satran scored, assisted by Greta Blau in the sixth minute. Blau would add her own score just six minutes later to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.

- Kamy Luecke found the back of the net for the first time this season, assisted by Reese Meszaros in the 20th minute. The final score of the first half came off the foot of Tierney Herman, assisted by Kayla Kerkman in the 42nd minute. Herman's goal goes down as her first as an Eagle.

- Coming out of the break, Anika Preusker scored her first goal for Edgewood College to solidify a 6-0 advantage. Pruesker would also score the ninth and final goal with 11 minutes remaining.

- The seventh and eighth goals were firsts for the Eagles. Hailey Corcoran, typically making saves in goal, recorded her first goal for Edgewood College, assisted by Meszaros in the 65th minute. Stephanie Kalscheuer would also get in on the scoring action, finding the back of the net in the 75th minute, assisted by newcomer Balene Kroeger.

- Meszaros was key for the Eagles in the second half, assisting on a career-best three goals.

- Overall, the Eagles outshot the Blue Angels 35-5, with 16 shots on goal.

- Hailey Hartel earned another win in goal for the Eagles, making three saves. Her counterpart for Mount Mary (3-8), Brianna Brown, collected seven saves on the evening.

- 14 different players recorded a shot in the contest, as all available players saw the field for Edgewood College.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles now lead the all-time series vs Mount Mary 8-0. The two teams last met in 2022.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will return to NACC play and Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park to face Aurora University. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
