MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's volleyball squad hosted the Rockford Regents in a Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) battle. The night was also a celebration of the spring student athletes and their accomplishments, as well as Diggin for a Cure. The Eagles (15-7, 8-1 NACC) got back on the right track with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-19) victory over the Regents (7-12, 2-7).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams hung around in the early going while exchanging small rallies, but it was Edgewood College that struck first in a big way. A 15-2 barrage slammed the door shut on set one The Eagles outhit Rockford .214 to -.267.
- A 10-4 start to frame two left Edgewood College in a strong position. The Regents put together some offense in the waning moments with a 6-2 rally to close within 20-17, but mistakes and Eagles offense put Edgewood College up 2-0 after five unanswered.
- After leading 10-2 in the opening points of the third set, the Regents never got closer than 16-13 after four unanswered points off of Eagles errors. A 6-2 follow-up from Edgewood College effectively put the set and match to bed.

Abigail Hoffmann tallied a 10-kill, 13-assist double-double with a pair of aces and three blocks.

Abbey Eivins had a strong showing, earning 16 assists and four aces.

Abbey Falk and
Payton Millin each swung for five kills. Falk tacked on three blocks.

Katie Borchert also hit six kills on the night.

Hannah Clark recorded a team-high four blocks, while
Jennacy Wille's 12 digs led the Eagles in that category.
- Leila Cooks recorded 14 assists and 12 digs for Rockford.
- Edgewood College outhit the Regents .223 to -.011.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Millin's five kills and Eivins' four aces were both career highs for the respective freshman.
- Rockford's -.011 hitting percentage was the lowest the Eagles have allowed all season
- Edgewood College has won 14 in a row over the Regents and leads the all-time series 25-9.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will host the Marian Sabres Saturday for Homecoming. First serve is scheduled for noon in yet another NACC battle at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. Edgewood College has won 19 straight against the Sabres and holds a 29-23 lead in the matchup.
