VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles men's soccer squad hosted Senior Day Saturday on a cold day at Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park. The Eagles hosted the Lakeland Muskies in an important Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference showing for both teams. Edgewood College (7-7-2, 3-5-1 NACC) struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, while Lakeland (4-9-1, 3-6-0) took advantage of one in the final minute for a 1-0 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams combined for 10 shots in the first 45 minutes of play. The Eagles found several opportunities that were just off the mark, including a shot off the top woodwork at 18:04.
- The squads came out of the halftime Senior Day festivities with fireworks. The teams combined for 18 shots on goal in the last 45 minutes as well as six yellow cards and 13 fouls. Still, neither defense budged until the final minute with Lakeland recording three saves.
- Rafael Romero was the hero for Lakeland, taking advantage of Edgewood College's defenders for a goal at 89:09 for the game winner.

Miguel Konde Gwo led the Eagles with five shots, two on goal.
Ezekiel Brown and
Aldon Lumani tallied a shot on goal each while
Noah Hook had four shots.

Maverick Van Laanen and
Ty Bienema split time in goal, with Van Laanen earning the lone save in 81:42 minutes of play.
- Zach Heiman was stout in goal against the Edgewood College attack, recording four saves.
- Four Muskies had two shots, with Romero and Brahm Dell Adema putting one on goal each.

- The Senior Day festivities celebrated the careers of Bienema,
Thomas Dews,
Sal Genco, and Eli Tameklo.
