VERONA, Wis. – Senior Marley Satran scored in the 72nd minute, but two goals from Dominican earlier in the match was too much for Edgewood College. The Eagles suffered their fifth conference loss of the season via a 2-1 final on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Satran's goal in the 72nd minute put a spark in the Edgewood College (7-6-3, 4-5-0 NACC) attack. Kamy Luecke connected with Satran for the goal to put the Eagles on the board for the first time all evening. Leah Doucette managed the Eagles best shot at tying things up in the 78th minute, but her shot ended up off the top woodwork.
- Dominican University (5-6-4, 4-3-2 NACC) scored first in the 30th minute. Sarah Matuszek pushed the ball past the Eagles defense following a scramble in the penalty box. The Stars took the 1-0 lead into halftime, outshooting the Eagles 12-4 in the first 45 minutes of action.
- The Stars came out of halftime with confidence, scoring again in the 52nd minute this time from Sophia Bartridge. The Dominican 2-0 advantage silenced the Eagles until Satran's goal in the 72nd minute.
- The Eagle attack was outshot 22-10 on the evening by the Stars. Dominican put seven shots on goal, compared to just four from Edgewood College.
- Hailey Corcoran managed five saves in net for Edgewood College. Faith Richards recorded three saves for Dominican.
