DE PERE, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team saw its season-high four-game winning streak snapped by St. Norbert College on Wednesday night. The Eagles struggled to contain the Green Knights explosive attack in conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Norbert College (9-3, 5-0 NACC) jumped out to a 14-point lead and built a 22-8 advantage with 2:12 left in the first period. Edgewood College (5-7, 2-3 NACC) turned the ball over four times in the first quarter and the Green Knights took advantage. St. Norbert took a 24-15 lead into the second quarter.
- St, Norbert continued their stellar shooting, recording a 63.16 (12-of-19) shooting percentage from the floor in the second quarter. The Green Knights continued to build their lead, scoring 26 points and taking a 50-25 lead into halftime.
- The Eagles best quarter came out of the break, as they scored 16 points and shot 50 percent (6-of-12) from the floor. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stave off the Green Knights as they added their third 20-plus quarter of the evening.
- Kallie Norby led the Eagles scoring with 11 points. Vivian Guerrero pulled down 12 a game high 12 rebounds, all defensive.
- Edgewood College finished the game shooting 39.3 percent (22-for-56) from the floor, while making just four of their 20 attempted shots from three-point range.
THE OPPOSITION
- Four Green Knights finished in double-digit scoring on Wednesday evening. Kaycee Gierczak led the way with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. Olivia DeCleene (16), Casey Jepson (14), and Emma Morrisey (13) also finished in double-digits.
- 12 different players added to the St. Norbert rebounding game, with DeCleene cleaning up the boards with eight of her own. DeCleene also dished out an impressive seven assists and collected five steals.
- Overall, the Green Knights recorded 22 points off turnovers and shot 46.7 percent from the floor.
