DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Edgewood College women's tennis squad played another non-conference match on their 2022 fall slate Wednesday evening. They played their last matchup before conference play at Loras. The Eagles (0-3) fell to the Duhawks (2-1) 6-3 as they dropped to 0-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Cecile Fuchs and
Ellie Murphy teamed up in no. 1 singles to win 8-2 over the Loras pair of Lauren Diiulio and Clair Moore.
- The Duhawks would come out of doubles up 2-1, but Fuchs tied it up at two apiece with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Isabel Schwabe in no. 1 singles. Murphy would tie it up again after Loras won no. 2 singles, with the Eagle winning 6-3, 6-4 over Clair Moore in the third slot.
- The two squads entered the last three singles matches tied at three apiece. Loras would sweep the bottom half of the singles tilts. A close 7-5, 7-6 victory in no. 4 singles proved to be the clinching match for the Duhawks

- Edgewood College fell to 1-2 against Loras since 2011 with the defeat.

- The Eagles open their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule Saturday morning against Lakeland University. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in Kohler, Wis. The Eagles sport a perfect 16-0 record against the Muskies since 2004. They have swept the last four matchups 9-0.
