SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Edgewood College women's volleyball squad wrapped up their weekend stay in Texas. They played a matchup against UW-Stout Saturday afternoon. The Eagles (2-1) took home the victory 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17) over the Blue Devils (0-4).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles started off the first set on a 13-2 run, but the Blue Devils evened the match with a 6-1 run to close out set two. Three attack errors from Edgewood College assisted UW-Stout in the run. The Eagles would have short memories and bounce back with a 7-1 start to set three to keep the third frame out of reach of the Blue Devils. The fourth set would be a similar story, with Edgewood College pushing out to a 10-2 lead and never looking back.
- The Eagles had 14 aces to UW-Stout's one.
Taylor Salmon and
Lea Bunch had four aces each, while
Katie Borchert had three.
- The Blue Devils won the hitting percentage battle, with a .195 percentage to Edgewood College's .163.

Ashley Bruehlman continued her strong start to her Edgewood College career, tallying 16 kills and 10 digs with a .263 hitting percentage on 38 attacks.
- Salmon also had 29 assists, while
Abigail Hoffmann had 16 assists as the Eagles continued to find success with a two-setter system.
- Bunch had 24 digs and Borchert tacked on 11 to anchor the Eagles defense.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
- The 14 aces as a team are tied for 13th on the all-time single game team record list, last set in a September 9, 2021 match against Carroll.
- The Eagles are now 2-3 against the Blue Devils dating back to 2000.

- Edgewood College returns to Wisconsin for the UW-Oshkosh Invite next Friday. They play UW-Whitewater at 5:00 p.m. and Millikin at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles are 2-13 against the Warhawks since 1995, while they are 1-4 against the Big Blue. This is the first time Edgewood College will play Millikin since the 2013 season.
