WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Four Eagles scored and two recorded assists in a 4-1 Edgewood College victory at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday. The Eagles improved to 4-0-1 conference record and sit in a three-way tie for second place in the NACC standings, one of five teams to maintain a conference record without a loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (7-1-1, 4-0-1 NACC) led 2-1 at halftime. The Eagles Mandy Fitzgerald got the Eagles scoring going early, finding the back of the net in just the fourth minute, assisted by Siobhan Gallagher. Wisconsin Lutheran tied things up at one a piece in the 24th minute, as Brooke Bluhm found the back of the net, unassisted.
- Edgewood College responded quickly, as their leading scorer Greta Blau netted her fifth goal of the season, assisted by Lauryn Nachreiner.
- The Eagles would go on to tack on two goals after halftime, first coming from Marley Satran, assisted by Rylee Brotz. The Eagles fourth and final goal would come in the 57th minute from Brotz, assisted by Gallagher.
- Edgewood College outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 33-4, as the Eagles defense continued to remain stellar. Hailey Corcoran recorded one save in 90 minutes in goal.
- 11 different players took a shot for Edgewood College, with 10 taking two or more shots.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- 7-1-1 is the best start to a season since 2007 when the Eagles went 11-1 to begin the season.
- With the victory Edgewood College now sits in a three-way tie for second place in the NACC with Concordia Wisconsin and MSOE.
