Eagles swept by Raiders in League Doubleheader

GLENDALE, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team dropped a pair of games Monday in a league doubleheader at MSOE. The Eagles had a tough time solving the Raiders pitching staff, falling 10-0 in the opener and 8-5 in the nightcap despite a three-run sixth inning.

RAIDERS 8, EAGLES 5 (GAME TWO)
- Edgewood College (14-10, 7-5 NACC) scored their first run of the day in the nightcap, as Adam Cairo crossed home plate in the top of the fifth inning. The Eagles best inning of the day came in the sixth frame. Joseph Kalafut scored Alex Prindle who reached on an error from the Raiders. Jacob Slonim would add two more runs in the next at-bat, sending the ball over the left field fence for his third home run of the season. The Eagles would add one more run in the seventh inning but it wasn't enough.

- MSOE (13-12, 8-4) scored early, notching two runs in both the first and second frames. The Raiders added three runs in the third inning to take a 7-0 lead, before adding their eighth and final run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

- The Eagles finished the game with five hits, two from Prindle, and one from Kalafut, Slonim, and Carson Richter. Kalafut and Prindle each added doubles.

- Leo Stone pitched six innings of relief for the Eagles, and struck out three batters. Nolan Vincent pitched all nine innings for the Raiders, striking out nine Eagles and only allowing three earned runs.

RAIDERS 10, EAGLES 0 – 8 INNINGS (GAME ONE)
- The Raiders bats were hot in the first game, collecting 13 hits. Kyle Labedz and John Kalitowksi each notched three hits and a run for MSOE.

- Connor Goodwin, Prindle, Sagan, Slonim, and Ryan Ambrosy each recorded a hit for the Eagles. Ultimately, the Edgewood College bats were stifled by eight innings of pitching from Tyler Gronert, who struck out eight and earned the complete game shutout.
