CLERMONT, Fla. – After getting rained out Wednesday, the Edgewood College Softball team returned to the diamond Thursday for two more games on their Florida trip. The Eagles were ready to roll Thursday, picking up wins over Wesleyan University and Knox College. Edgewood College started its day with a 4-0 win over Wesleyan before routing Knox, 13-2, in the nightcap.
EAGLES 4, CARDINALS 0
- The Eagles (7-7) received a complete-game shutout from
Tatum Duff in the opener. Duff allowed six hits and struck out four in the win.
- Edgewood College plated two runs in the second on a two-run double by
Mackenzie Doherty, plating
Olivia Hebert and
Elizabeth Malarski. Hebert delivered an RBI single in the fourth, while
Alyse Maurer drove in a run in the fifth inning.
- Hebert, Maurer, and Doherty each paced the offense with two hits each. Maurer, Malarski, and Doherty all doubled in the win.
EAGLES 13, PRAIRIE FIRE 2 (F/6)
- Edgewood College held a 3-2 lead before scoring 10 runs over its final two innings at the dish in the second win of the day. The Eagles plated three in the fifth and then broke the game open with a seven-run sixth inning. They finished game two with 10 hits.

Grace Ott homered in the second inning to start the scoring for the Eagles, while leadoff batter
Kya Loffswold paced the offense with three hits. Both Loffswold and
Jenna Sanchez, the first two hitters in the lineup, scored three times.

Haylee Kasuboski drove in three runs for Edgewood College in the win with Sanchez and Maurer each driving in two. Doherty once again had two hits, as did Sanchez, who also doubled.

Grace Pustina got the win in the circle for Edgewood College, delivering a complete game. She allowed two runs, one earned, in her six innings of work.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The win moved the Eagles back to .500 for the season and .500 for the trip as well. The Eagles are 3-3 in Florida, which has included two run-rule wins.

- The Eagles will close their Florida trip with two more games tomorrow. The first against Southern Maine at 2 p.m. eastern. They will then close the eight-game trip against New York University at 6.
